What this site is for
It exists to help someone decide about breast augmentation. The operation itself — implant classes, planes, incisions, how a capsule forms — is documented in the hospital's breast and body contouring subject site and in Dr. Mao's professional site. Repeating that material would add nothing. What is often missing is the patient's side of the decision: implants or your own fat, what a non-lifetime device commits you to, what surveillance actually involves, and when the honest answer is not to operate.
How it is written
Every guide follows one decision from beginning to end and states its limits as plainly as its benefits. Where the evidence for a claim is modest, the text says so. Where an operation is the wrong match for a problem, the text says that too. Nothing here is written to make an operation sound easier than it is, and no result is promised.
What it will not do
It will not name brands of drugs or devices: implants and materials are described by class only, as silicone gel, saline or autologous fat. It will not quote prices, because cost depends on the plan and the plan depends on an assessment. It will not publish dosages, and it will not invent credentials, awards or case volumes for any clinician.
Medical review
The content is reviewed by Tongchun Mao, MD, Deputy Director and Head of Aesthetic Surgery at Chongqing West District Hospital, and is dated on every page. It is patient education, not medical advice: it does not describe your case, and it does not replace an assessment by a qualified clinician who has examined you.
